Come and join us for One Wild Night with Steve Backshall.

Spend an evening listening to some of the greatest names in wildlife, adventure and sport, coming together for one night to share experiences, tell tales, and bring to the RGS Lecture theatre images and films from some of the world’s wildest places.

Compered by Monty Halls, Steve will be sharing the stage with Helen Glover, Dan Snow, George McGavin, Tanni Grey Thompson and more.

Funds raised through the event will support a project to expand the Rio Zuñac Reserve in Ecuador where threatened habitat has become available in the foothills of the eastern Andes, along the western edge of the Amazon Basin.

Where is our project?

Rio Zuñac Reserve is situated within the transition zone between the Andes and Amazon, this area is home to a rich biodiversity of rare and endangered plants, including many species endemic to the reserve, which makes it an important site for scientific research.

A wide range of mammals and eastern Andean birds can be found in this area, along with a vast wealth of amphibian species. With many species new to science regularly discovered in the area. Purchasing this area doesn’t just provide protection for its rich habitat, the purchase will also play a positive role in the fight against climate change as it will help to absorb and lock in carbon within the forest for years to come, and you can be a part of this amazing opportunity.
