Dr Lee Durrell is Honorary Director of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which operates one of the world’s foremost centres for breeding endangered species and training conservationists, at its headquarters in Jersey. The trust aims to prevent species extinction by targeted breeding programmes and by working on the ground in many countries around the world.

Together with her late husband, Gerald Durrell, Lee helped in the launch of the Programme for Belize which was the first project enacted by World Land Trust.

Lee was awarded an MBE in 2011 for her services to wildlife conservation.
