Award winning, BRIT and Emmy nominated Sarah Class has become one of Britain’s most sought-after composers, she is an accomplished musician, producer, songwriter, and singer, creating scores for film, television and the concert arena.
A committed environmental campaigner and nature lover, Sarah has supported WLT through her work on several occasions including writing and performing a special theme for WLT’s Laguna Grande appeal, which successfully increased the size of the reserve from 675 ha (1,668 acres) to 2,008 ha (4,962 acres).
Continuing Sarah’s association with the natural world, she was nominated for Emmy awards for her work on the BBC series Madagascar and Africa, narrated by Sir David Attenborough. Sir David also made an appearance on Sarah’s music video ‘I Will Fight’, released in conjunction with WLT to highlight the devastating environmental issues the world is facing. The famous “Giraffe Fight” sequence from BBC Africa was memorably performed in the 2022 BBC Earth Prom at the Royal Albert Hall, presented by Chris Packham and Megan McCubbin.
Sarah was honoured to be asked to write a special piece of music for HRH’s King Charles’ Coronation on May 6th 2023. The piece, Sacred Fire, with lyrics by poet and writer Grahame Davies was performed to great acclaim at Westminster Abbey by the South African Soprano, Pretty Yende with conductor Antonio Pappano and the Coronation Orchestra.
